Pride 2022

SWAT Celebrates Pride 2022!

It is officially June which means that it is Pride Month for 2022! Our website has received a fresh coat of paint to celebrate, and we are publishing Pride resources inside this article in support of the cause.

What is Pride Month?

Pride Month is celebrated every June and serves as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall riots that took place in 1969. The event is considered the watershed event that transformed the gay liberation movement and the twentieth-century fight for LGBT rights in the United States.

Today, Pride month is an entire month dedicated to the uplifting LGBTQ voices, celebration of LGBTQ culture, and support for LBGTQ rights. It is celebrated internationally, including by us at SWAT.
